Learn how to build a professional, automated contact form using Google Forms and embed it into your Stride template in under 10 minutes.
Let’s be honest: listing your email address in plain text on your website is very 2004. Not only does it invite a tidal wave of spam, but it also forces your customer to do all the work.
A Google Form acts as a professional gatekeeper. It ensures you get the exact information you need - like a phone number or a specific project date - before you even pick up the phone. Best of all? It’s completely free and syncs instantly with your Stride template. (See the example on our contact page).
Head over to Google Forms.
Click the "+" (Blank) button or choose the "Contact Information" template to save time.
Give it a name: "Contact [Your Business Name]" is usually best.
Add your questions:
Full Name (Short answer)
Email Address (Short answer - make this "Required")
Phone Number (Short answer)
How can I help? (Paragraph)
Don't settle for the default purple!
Click the "Customise Theme" (Paint palette) icon at the top.
Color: Pick a color that matches your Stride template’s brand palette.
Header Image: You can upload a simple banner or your logo here to make it look "built-in."
By default, Google Forms doesn't always email you when someone submits. You have to tell it to:
Click the "Responses" tab at the top of your form.
Click the three dots (⋮) on the right side.
Select "Get email notifications for new responses." * Now, you’ll get an alert in your Gmail the second a lead comes in!
This is where the magic happens.
Open your Google Sites editor.
Go to the page where you want the form (usually your "Contact" page).
On the right-hand Insert menu, scroll down and click "Forms."
Your new form will appear at the top of the list. Click it and select "Insert."
Drag the blue handles to make sure the form is centered and the "Submit" button isn't cut off.
Hit Publish.
The Golden Rule: Always open your live site in a "Private" or "Incognito" window and send yourself a test inquiry to make sure the notification arrives!
