Stop playing "email tennis" with clients. Use Google Calendar’s built-in appointment tools to let customers book themselves directly on your Stride website.
f you are a Personal Trainer, Consultant, or Coach, your time is your product. But if you are spending hours every week texting back and forth just to find a time slot that works, you are wasting money.
Many people think they need expensive software like Calendly or Acuity to take bookings. You don't.
Google now has a powerful feature called "Appointment Slots" built right into your calendar. It looks professional, it sends reminders, and it integrates perfectly with your Stride Google Sites template.
Here is how to set it up in 10 minutes.
You don't do this part on your website; you do it in your Google Calendar.
Open Google Calendar on your computer.
Click the "Create" button (top left) and select "Appointment Schedule".
Set your duration: Choose how long your sessions are (e.g., 45 mins, 1 hour).
Set your availability: Click the grid to paint the times you are free to take clients (e.g., Mon-Wed, 9am - 12pm).
Click Next to customize your booking page. Add a photo, a description, and even a "Location" (you can paste your Zoom link here automatically).
Save.
Note: If you are using a free personal Gmail account, you get one booking page for free. If you have a Google Workspace (Business) account, you can create unlimited pages and even take payments via Stripe!
Now that your booking page exists, let's get it ready for your website.
Click on your new Appointment block in your calendar.
Click the "Share" button.
Select the "Website Embed" tab.
You will see two options:
Button: A neat "Book an Appointment" button.
Inline Booking Page: The full calendar grid displays directly on your page.
We recommend "Inline Booking Page" for the best user experience.
Copy the code snippet provided.
Now, let’s put it online.
Open your website editor in Google Sites.
Navigate to the section on the page where you want the calendar (e.g., "Contact" or "Bookings"), or create a new page just for the calendar.
On the right-hand menu, click "Embed" (the yellow < > icon).
Select the "Embed Code" tab.
Paste the code you copied from Google Calendar.
Click Insert.
You will see your booking calendar appear on the page. Drag the blue dots on the corners of the box to resize it so the whole calendar fits comfortably without needing to scroll too much.
Hit Publish, and you are done! Here's what it looks like 👇
Privacy: Clients only see "Free/Busy" slots, never your private doctor's appointments or dinner plans.
Automation: Google sends them a confirmation email automatically.
Control: You can set "buffer times" so you don't get back-to-back bookings without a break.
