Your business is growing, and your website should too. Learn how to add new pages, create drop-down menus, and customize your navigation in seconds.
One of the best things about the Stride template you just bought is that it isn’t "locked." Unlike an expensive agency website that requires a phone call (and an invoice) to change a comma, your Google Site allows you to expand whenever you like.
Maybe you’ve launched a new service. Maybe you want to show off a gallery of recent projects. Or perhaps you want a private page just for client onboarding.
Whatever the reason, adding a new page is as easy as adding a slide to a presentation. Here is your confident quick-start guide.
Got a new idea? Let’s give it a home.
Open your website in the Google Sites editor.
Click the "Pages" tab on the right-hand sidebar.
Hover over the big + (Plus) button at the bottom.
Click "New Page".
Type your page name (e.g., "Services" or "Pricing") and click Done.
Boom. A new page is created instantly, copying the header and footer style from your template so it looks professional immediately.
If you offer three different services (e.g., "Dog Walking," "Pet Sitting," and "Grooming"), you don't want to clutter your top menu bar with too many links. The solution? A drop-down menu.
Create your main page (e.g., "Services").
Create your specific pages (e.g., "Dog Walking").
In the Pages sidebar, click and drag the "Dog Walking" page on top of the "Services" page.
Release your mouse.
You will now see it "nest" underneath. When you publish the site, visitors will see a neat drop-down arrow next to "Services."
Sometimes you want a page to exist, but you don't want it in the main menu.
Example: A "Thank You" page that people only see after they fill out a form.
Example: A "Client Onboarding" page you only email to new customers.
How to do it:
Go to the Pages tab.
Find the page you want to hide.
Click the three dots (⋮) next to the page name.
Select "Hide from navigation"
The page is still live and accessible via a link, but it won't clutter your menu bar!
Do you have a shop on Etsy? Or a booking page on Calendly? You can add a link to your menu that takes people straight there.
Hover over the + (Plus) button again.
Instead of "New Page," click "New Link".
Paste your Etsy/Calendly URL.
Name it (e.g., "Shop" or "Book Now").
Now, when visitors click that button in your menu, they go straight to your external shop.
People buy with their eyes. If you are a gardener, decorator, or artist, add a page called "Recent Work."
Tip: Use the "Image Carousel" block to let people swipe through your photos.
Tired of answering the same questions? ("Do you travel?" "Do you take credit cards?").
Tip: Create a simple FAQ page using the "Collapsible Group" text feature. It keeps the page tidy and saves you hours of email time.
If you’ve hired staff, give them a shout-out!
Pro tip: Duplicate your "About" page and swap the photos. It’s faster than building from scratch.
Ready to expand? Go to your Pages tab right now and add that "FAQ" page you’ve been thinking about. It takes 3 minutes!
